On March 28th, Owen and I joined my parents and unfortunantly left daddy behind and took a trip to sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We werent planning on going but about 2 weeks before their trip I decided we would go as well, after all I needed a vacation, it had been too long and Josh graciously agreed to let us go. It was so fun taking Owen as he experienced so many firsts in just one short week. There were so many firsts that of course I, the camera crazy mommy took 100+ pictures and we wanted daddy to be able to see it all. We missed him so much while we were gone!! Thanks so much for having us Uncle Marty and Aunt Susie, we miss you already......can we come back soon?!?!
Check out this smile, he KNOWS we are headed to the airport to go to Florida, Smart boy!
Owen was very good on the plane. He was so excited to spend an ENTIRE week with his grandma and grandpa!
Sound asleep in my lap on the plane, what a relief.
Headed to the beach on our first day, check out my new hat and sunglasses.
Loving the feeling of sand between his toes like his grandma.
The water was really cold, so we didnt go in so this was as close as we could get for a picture.
Owen playing in his sun tent on the beach so he didnt get burnt or should I say blown away, this day at the beach was sunny but very windy.
Owen LOVES playing with his Grandpa. Owen thinks he is so funny!
I LOVE this picture. This is Owen chillin' in his miniture swimming pool grandma made for him out of a plastic tub. My aunt and uncle's pool wasn't quite warm enough on the second day there, but they did turn on the heater for us in the pool so it would be later in the week so Owen could have the full swimming experience. Aunt Susie and Uncle Marty rock!
One happy boy, the only thing missing was daddy and of couse all the rest of our family! Owen loved being outside all the time through!
On Saturday, we all went out on Susie and Marty's boat for the day. We had a blast! We cruised down the intercoastal and saw all of the million dollar homes and yaughts, took a ride in the dingy boat, grilled out at an island, and caught some great rays (not Owen though)!
Can you believe I am driving this boat?!?!
A long day on the boat called for a midafternoon snooze in the boat cabin. What a handsome sleeper, so peaceful.

Owen loves his Grandma so much, just one of many moments with Grandma.
Look at me, I am playing on the seat of the boat.
The boat trip back to the dock. Slicker also posed for this picture. (He is one of my Aunt and Uncle's three dogs, all of which got to make the boat trip...how lucky are they, don't tell Copper and Corey-our dogs)
Grandpa and Owen just watching a little Sports Center, while waiting on the girls to get ready....probally going to be the story of Owen's life...waiting on his mommy to be ready.
Owen's frst real experience in the swimming pool. This time the water felt like a bath, just perfect for Owen. Owen is trying out his new water float, unfortunatly he is a tall, skinny-mini and he constantly fell forwards and back in it as you can see from this picture. However, he decided it made a good head rest.
Second trip to the beach, is it sunny Owen??
Second time in the pool, we decided to just let him swim with mommy and hang out on the steps. Owen loved playing in the water. He was constantly splashing himself with his feet and hands in the water.
Putting Pampers to the real test, and they PASSED!
Cuddling with my fun grandpa on the swing outside after getting out of the pool.
I think when we got home from Florida, Owen was confused as to where his grandma and grandpa had went. After all he was use to having them there to wake up to everyday and around at every moment to cuddle and play with. He also was use to having Grandma in the backseat with him on every car ride. Where oh where did they go? Oh and I cant forget to mention....Owen had his first huge belly laugh on the trip on Monday. He was in the backseat of the car with his Grandma and she began singing "Old McDonald had a farm" and he started to giggle. As she kept singing he really began to laugh....it was by far the cutest noise I have heard in my entire life. I didnt get it on camera however I did quickly call Josh and leave it for him to hear on his voice mail. It is too cute! I think it is also his favorite song, everytime we have sang it since then he smiles, I dont know if he is reminissing the funny moment with his grandma or what however I have never gotten the full out belly laugh since, not yet anyway! Overall the trip was a lot of fun and a great break away from the Indiana weather. We enjoyed time with my aunt and uncle and my parents but we sure did miss Josh/daddy!
