Owen's many firsts at 15 weeks!

Owen is now 15 weeks old and seems like he has grown up a lot this week, we have experienced several firsts. Beginning a couple weeks ago he began holding toys in his hands by himself with control. Before you would put them in his hand and he would hold them but wouldn't really know he had it, so next thing you knew he was throwing it. Now he holds them like a champ. His favorite item is his new car keys....if only he had a new car to go with them!

He also began a couple weeks ago cooing at us when we were face to face and talking to him. Since then, really this week he has become a talkative little boy, he must get that from his mommy. If Owen isin't sleeping or eating or occasionally crying he is most often talking and even more recently it has become louder and louder and more high pitched. It is so cute!

He also slept in his crib in his own room for the first time on February 2nd. He did very well although daddy and mommy were very reluctant to let him go.

Owen also giggled for the first time at Grandma and Grandpa's house on Febraury 5th. It was the cutest noise. It absolutly melted my heart and made every cry I had heard the last couple months all worth it. It is truly amazing. Although it was very small and very quick, it was precious. Owen's Mimi (Josh's mom) actually happened to be there for it too so that was special. Daddy was at work but we have been trying to get him to do it again for daddy, hopefully he will soon. I am still not even sure what he was laughing at but he giggled a tiny bit and I nearly choked on my drink when I heard it and then he smiled big at me and did it again. That time I think he was laughing at his mommy choking!

On February 8th, Owen spent his first time away from mommy and daddy and not with family. My good friend, Courtney graciously offered to watch him while Mommy and Daddy went to a party for Josh's company. We had a great night out and Owen did very well with Courtney, we were even gone for almost 5 hours. Thanks Courtney!

On February 10th, Owen sucked his thumb for the first time. We were out having dinner at the Mills house and I was holding Owen. Next thing I knew I looked down at him and he was sucking his thumb. We knew it was only a matter of time as he had been sucking his entire hand for a couple of weeks. Since that night though I think he has only found his yummy thumb a couple of times:)

Owen definatly seems to be much happier now that he is healthy. We still have some trying times during and after eating because of the acid reflux but other than that he is one happy boy. On top of that with a happy boy comes a happy mom. It had been a tough time these past 4 weeks because with Owen being sick he always wanted to be held and did not take any naps. I am sure you mom's can relate. The longest nap he took in the last 4-5 weeks was 20 minutes. He would fall asleep with no problem as he was so tired but would awake I am assuming because he felt crummy. This week has been filled with joy, a happy baby and a happy mom because Owen gets a couple good naps in a day and mommy gets some free time. We are a much happier pair!! Owen is sleeping well at night too. He sleeps from about 9-11pm and then I wake him and feed him and then he goes back to bed and sleep from about 11:30pm-6am. At 6am he eats and then typically goes back to bed till around 8am. We will for sure take that. The stretch from 11:30-6 is much appreciated by mommy. However we still have an some nights where he decides he is a starvin' boy at 3am but really it is all going very well. Every minute of being a mommy and seeing every little thing he does for the first time is so fun. We are loving being parents and taking tons of pictures and video taping as often as we think of it. Here are a few pics from week 15.

Also on Feb. 4th the COLTS WON THE SUPER BOWL....It has been a great 10 days at the Medley's to say the least!!
